Vaughan Gething is the Welsh Labour and Co-Operative Party Member of the Senedd for Cardiff South & Penarth. He was first elected in 2011 and has since been re-elected both in 2016 and 2021. Vaughan currently serves as the Minister for Economy in the Welsh Labour Government, having been Minister for Health and Social Services during the last Senedd and for a large part of the coronavirus pandemic. When he’s not in the Welsh Parliament, Vaughan enjoys watching rugby and football as well as being a big cricket fan, although he is a (mostly!) retired cricketer. He also enjoys spending time with his wife, their son and their family dog, Cyril.
